Our Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) Seminar students had an enormous advantage over many other examinees on the July 2017 exam. We carefully reviewed 15 years of previous essays in each of the 16 subjects to formulate our predictions. We are thrilled to report that our MEE predictions correctly forecasted more than 90% of the subjects on the MEE. Additionally, we accurately predicted many of the specific issues that were tested on the essays. Below we discuss in detail which of our MEE predictions appeared on the exam.

Secured Transactions has been tested more and more frequently on the Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) and  Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) as you can see from our Multistate Essay Exam frequency chart.  It was tested in July 2017, both exams in 2016, February 2015, and several times before that. (Note that one of the components of the Uniform Bar Exam is the Multistate Essay Exam. So this post covers both how Secured Transactions is tested on the MEE as well as how Secured Transactions is tested on the Uniform Bar Exam!)

Many students get nervous at the thought of Secured Transactions being tested on the Multistate Essay Exam. Especially since many students encounter it for the first time in bar prep. How – and Why – You Need To Self-Grade Bar Exam Essays

We just had a student tell us last week that learning how to self-grade bar exam essays was the best thing she did when she was studying for the bar exam.

“Self-grading” is a method where you read a bar exam essay fact pattern then write or bullet point your answer and compare what you wrote with the model answer. When you compare what you wrote with the model answer, use a different color pen (or font) to write out anything you missed and to give yourself tips like an actual grader would.

A few Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) one-sheets purchasers have asked us if MEE one-sheets can be used as substitutes for full MEE outlines.

We do not recommend that you use MEE one-sheets as substitutes for outlines! This is for a few reasons:

First, while MEE one-sheets highlight the highly-tested areas of law, they do not cover every area of law. And while you may want to focus on the highly-tested areas of law when you study (so you can study the most efficiently!) you do not want to lose sight of the bigger picture of the law.
